Shanenawa People’s Emergency Relief Fund to buy Seeds After the Floods in Acre- Morada Nova indigenous Village

The funds will Benefit 100 families in the village for the purchase and distribution of corn, cassava, vegetables and fruit, bananas, watermelons, papayas as well as to buy fuel for local trips.
In February 2021, the State of Acre is going through a major flood, one of the largest in history, wiping out the plantations of indigenous peoples, among them the Shanenanwa people, from the Morada Nova village. This project aims to mitigate the losses with the acquired resource, they can buy all types of seeds of traditional use in the local cuisine. Fruits such as papaya, bananas, and vegetables and manioc roots, potatoes, in addition to supporting transport costs to pick up seeds, whether in city stores or in neighbors that have not suffered flooding in their gardens.
